 Dear Jared,

One lie that is often told about college is that it is harder than high school. College is not harder, it is just more. It is more information and more responsibility. The classes are not harder, they just shift the burden of learning more onto you. Another lie is that college courses are more useful than high school classes. This is true in some cases, but there are some dumb courses that should never be taken by anyone. A third lie is that living on campus is a 24/7 party. This is not true. Campus life can get pretty boring, especially with COVID. Most of these lies are told to draw potential students to college. These lies are not good because it can set people on bad paths like getting a useless degree and being in debt.

With care,

Evan G.
